F-A-T. It can be the more feared, loathed, and vile word in every language around the world.
People are afraid to get fat. You are afraid to see unsightly belly fat in the mirror, the jiggling under your arms, or the extra padding on your hips and thighs.
But, the truth is, fat does a very important job in your body…
The Role of Your Fat Cells
You see, people only look at the exterior when it comes to fat cells. They see – and feel – the changes that carrying around extra fat provides.
You may see the muffin top over your jeans…
Or you may think your legs are too THICK because of the extra fat layer.
Face it: People just HATE fat.
But, what you DON’T see is the important work your fat cells are doing INSIDE your body – as you’re looking in the mirror in disgust!
You see, your fat cells play an important role, not only for storing extra nutrients as a source of energy, but they also release powerful fat-busting hormones (think adiponectin and leptin).

Your body produces an important protein – called secreted frizzled-related protein1 (SFRP1) – which may help your fat cells expand due to the influx of extra calories, and may result in normal metabolic activity.
But, when you continue to overload your system with fast food, candy bars, soda, and other refined products, then this activity may disrupt the production of SFRP1.
This may result in less ability of your fat cells to expand normally, leading to dysfunctional fat cells, metabolism, and an increased risk for developing metabolic diseases such as diabetes or metabolic syndrome.
This could lead to more unsightly belly fat and negative changes in your weight.
Here’s What to Do Next...
If you want to reduce your belly flab to reveal a trim, toned, and sexy midsection, then you need to do the following:
AVOID refined carbohydrates – refined carbohydrates, white sugars, and white flours are commonly found in processed food products. These products may drastically change blood sugar patterns, therefore prompting your body to store more calories as fat.
Eat More Fibrous Carbs – higher fiber foods may causes a slower rise in blood sugar due to the extra fiber content. Fiber slows the rate of digestion, therefore causing less spikes in both blood sugar and insulin levels. This could lower your weight, improve digestion, and satisfy you better.
Include More Lean Proteins – protein contains the important building block your body needs to build muscle, repair cells, and other important functions. Plus, protein may leave you feeling full, so you’re less likely to want to eat more or delve into those refined snacks.
Now, no one person is the same and this advice may not work for everyone. But, if you follow these tips from above – or a combination of the three – then chances are you may notice a drop in your weight and changes in your belly fat.
